The sports world has dramatically changed as we now live in midst of a global pandemic. Major adjustments have been made to make playing on the field, the court, the ring or just plain anywhere possible. When the National Football League (NFL) announced its return, some teams agreed to allow fans to attend but, only at a limited capacity, others reported that for 2020–21 season they would not allow fans to be in attendance for games. Beginning the season, without a preseason a number of players suffered injuries in the early weeks of the season. But, then came a number of positive tests for the novel coronavirus. With positive tests came games postponed and no timetable for return, for football players like Quarterback of the New England Patriots Cam Newton and cornerback Stephon Gilmore, much of how the NFL proceeds is uncertain. As not only players, but staff and members of teams like the Tennessee Titans also test positive, beginning a season with no abbreviated schedule or plan for possible positive tests has proved quite negative. Which leaves me to wonder, Dear Sports, how many more positive tests will either cause the NFL to revise its plan for this season or put an end to it?
